On Friday afternoon G2 Esports made a big splash and showed their commitment to winning by signing Halo legend Dan “OGRE1” Ryan as their team's manager.

The organization's Halo squad has underperformed this season compared to the other HCS partnered teams. They haven't been able to crack the Top 8 at an HCS Major but G2 Esports has shown potential, most notably at Anaheim where they finished tied for 5th place.

Adding OGRE1 to their Halo brain trust will surely pay dividends for the team. It's no secret he knows what it takes to win a major Halo tournament, and he has plenty of time to observe the roster and offer insight before the Halo World Championship in October. OGRE1 has also shown he's still got what it takes to compete in Halo Infinite as a player, he qualified for the ANZ Pro Series in Split 1 after a nine-year absence from the game.
