With the kick off of Halo Infinite esports a few weeks ago we also got the first look at the maps, modes, and esports-specific settings that we’ll get very used to over the next year.

Here’s a rundown on these details:

Starting from the top, while Halo Infinite launched with 10 maps in the multiplayer rotation, only five are played in esports tournaments:

All five of these are available in Slayer matches while Bazaar and Aquarius are Capture the Flag maps. The remaining three -- Live Fire, Recharge, and Streets -- are played in both Strongholds, and Oddball.

As well as this, Aquarius is the lone Free For All map in the pool.

Map Bans

When playing a three, five, or seven map tournament there must always be a mix between Slayer and Objective game modes as follows:

  • Game 1: Objective
  • Game 2: Slayer
  • Game 3: Objective
  • Game 4: Objective
  • Game 5: Slayer
  • Game 6: Objective
  • Game 7: Slayer

Age and Location Rules

Also worth knowing is the age and location restrictions. Starting with age, this changes region to region:

  • North America - 13 years of age
  • Europe and Mexico - 16 years of age
  • ANZ - 15 years of age

As well as this, for those in smaller European countries as well as Eastern Europe the region list should be checked before competing as there are notable omissions such as Croatia, Ukraine, and Russia:

  • NA - United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico
  • EU - Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom
  • ANZ - Australia and New Zealand
  • MX - Mexico
